The National Weather Service has issued Tornado Watch 255 in effect until 10:00 PM tonight for the following areas:

In Nebraska, this watch includes 4 counties:In Western Nebraska:Banner, Kimball, Scotts Bluff and Sioux.In Wyoming, this watch includes 3 counties:In Southeast Wyoming:Goshen, Laramie and Platte.This includes the cities of Cheyenne, Gering, Guernsey, Harrisburg, Harrison, Kimball, Scottsbluff, Torrington and Wheatland.

SEVERE WEATHER ALERT UPDATE: Severe Thunderstorm Watch 253 in effect until 2 AM Thursday.

The National Weather Service has issued Severe Thunderstorm Watch 253 until 2 AM Thursday, which replaces a portion of Tornado Watch 251. The new watch is valid for the following areas:

In Nebraska, the new watch includes 4 counties:In Western Nebraska:Banner, Kimball, Scotts Bluff and Sioux.In Wyoming, the new watch includes 5 counties:In East Central Wyoming:Converse, Niobrara.In Southeast Wyoming:Goshen, Laramie, Platte.This includes the cities of, Cheyenne, Douglas, Gering, Glenrock, Guernsey, Harrisburg, Harrison, Kimball, Lusk, Scottsbluff, Torrington and Wheatland.

SEVERE WEATHER ALERT: Severe Thunderstorm Warning in effect until 6:00 PM.

The National Weather Service in Cheyenne has issued a severe thunderstorm warning for Southeastern Kimball County in the Panhandle of Nebraska, Northwestern Cheyenne County in the Panhandle of Nebraska until 6:00 PM.

At 5:22 PM, a severe thunderstorm was located over Dix, or 8 miles east of Kimball, moving northeast at 15 mph. a second thunderstorm was located over far northwest Cheyenne County. This storm was moving east at 15 mph.

Hazards are quarter size hail.
Source is radar indicated.

Impacts are damage to vehicles is expected.

Locations impacted include Potter, Dix and Brownson.

This includes interstate 80 in Nebraska between mile markers 22 and 51.

Precautionary/Preparedness Actions:

This storm is producing large hail. seek shelter now inside a sturdy structure and stay away from windows.

To report severe weather, contact your nearest law enforcement agency. They will send your report to the National Weather Service office in Cheyenne.

Torrential rainfall is occurring with this storm and may lead to flash flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways.
