This is a published public meeting-you will not be able to speak but you have an obligation as a tax payer and concerned citizen to show up - then you can most likely submit written thoughts and concerns to the members of the board following the meeting . We need to make sure the board recognizes this is a vitally important matter for all of the taxpayers and voters.

The superintendent is the CEO of the school district. The superintendent wears many hats but must always keep a clear focus. He or she sets the tone, charts the course of the district, and works closely with the board of education. The superintendent is also responsible for hiring and supervising the other administrators in the district, including the chief financial officer and the school principals.

Working with the board can pose significant challenges for the superintendent. The board is the superintendent’s boss. They are responsible for hiring and firing the superintendent, and evaluating his or her performance on a regular basis. Since it is an elected body, new members might be chosen every few years. This change can create a different dynamic in the relationship with the superintendent from year to year, depending on who is elected.

The principals are the key leaders at each school. It is the superintendent’s job to evaluate their performance and see to it that they are effective leaders, working with the teachers at the school to serve the needs of students and meet the district goals.

The superintendent must also respond to the demands of all the other constituencies in the district: the teachers, students, parents, staff and the community at large. He or she must consider how to allocate the financial and human resources of the district in order to achieve the best results. While being mindful of all the competing demands, a great superintendent will ultimately be guided by a singular question: What is best for all students? What is the best for the community? What is the best for our future?

The citizens of Kimball have a say and need to show up and let the board of education know that this is a critical vital decision for our students of today and tomorrow ---and for the community

The team was made up of Kaleb Prather, Anabela Whitehead, and Makayla Woolington Kimball's Agricultural Mechanics team earned 10th place. Justin Klosterman placed 10th in Hydraulics, Alycia Vrbas place 7th in Equipment, and Jared Barnes tied for 2nd place in Small Engines.

BREAKING NEWS

The City of Kimball is accepting proposals to lease the fitness equipment curently housed at the Kimball Events Center for three years. The list of equipment can be found in Attachment A.

The successful bidder will house the equipment and operate a fitness center within the city limits of the City of Kimball for a minimum of three years.

The successful bidder wil honor existing memberships until they expire.

The successtul bidder will make the equipment available for use for members for a 24-7 basis.

At the end of three years, the City of Kimball will transfer ownership of the equipment to the successful bidder.

In the proposal please include the building you intend to use and its square footage. Please provide proof of ownership.

Please submit sealed proposals to City of Kimball, Fitness Equipment RFP, 223 South Chestnut Street, Kimbal, Nebraska 69145. Proposals must be submitted no later than Thursday, February 27, 2020 at 3pm, MST.
