Bushnell, Nebraska is located in Kimball county at the tri-state border between Colorado, Nebraska, and Wyoming. In this recording I drove from the railroad tracks (parallel to the Lincoln Highway, US 30) to the town's community center. The town was named after Cornelius Scranton Bushnell (July 19, 1829 -- May 6, 1896) - an American railroad executive and shipbuilder who was instrumental in developing ironclad ships for the Union Navy during the American Civil War. At the time of my visit, in 2012, the Bushnell's population was estimated to be about 125. Bushnell sits at an elevation of 1,485 metres (4,872 feet).
