SEVERE WEATHER ALERT: Severe Thunderstorm Warning in effect until 6:00 PM.

The National Weather Service in Cheyenne has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Warning for Kimball County in the Panhandle of Nebraska, Western Cheyenne County in the Panhandle of Nebraska until 6:00 PM.

At 5:09 PM, severe thunderstorms were located along a line extending from Oliver Campground to near Kimball airport to 11 miles north of Westplains, moving northeast at 45 mph.

Hazards are 60 mph wind gusts. 

Source is radar indicated. 

Impacts are to expect damage to roofs, siding and trees. 

Locations impacted include Kimball, Potter, Dix, Oliver Campground, Oliver Reservoir, Kimball Airport and Bushnell.

This includes interstate 80 in Nebraska between mile markers 7 and 50.

Precautionary/Preparedness Actions:

For your protection, move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a building.

To report severe weather, contact your nearest law enforcement agency. They will send your report to the National Weather Service office in Cheyenne.
