The National Weather Service in Cheyenne has issued a severe thunderstorm warning for Northwestern Kimball County in the Panhandle of Nebraska, Banner County in the Panhandle of Nebraska, Southwestern Morrill County in the Panhandle of Nebraska, South Central Scotts Bluff County in the Panhandle of Nebraska, Eastern Laramie County in Southeastern Wyoming and Southeastern Goshen County in Southeastern Wyoming until 5:15 PM.
At 4:51 PM, severe thunderstorms were located along a line extending from near Wildcat Hills Campground to 8 miles southeast of La Grange, moving southeast at 45 mph. Hazards are ping pong size hail and 60 mph wind gusts. Source is radar indicated.
Impacts are people and animals outdoors will be injured. expect hail damage to roofs, siding, windows and vehicles. expect wind damage to roofs, siding and trees. Locations impacted include Oliver Reservoir, Oliver Campground, Wildcat Hills State Recreation Area, Harrisburg, Wildcat Hills Campground and Bushnell. This includes interstate 80 in Nebraska between mile markers 9 and 10. Precautionary/Preparedness Actions: For your protection, move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a building. Prepare immediately for large hail and damaging winds. people outside should move to a shelter, inside a strong building and away from windows. Torrential rainfall is occurring with these storms, and may lead to flash flooding. do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways.
