City Council Agenda Regular Meeting Tuesday, October 20, 2026
The City Council meeting opened with the Pledge of Allegiance and a roll call confirming a quorum. The council approved the consent agenda, including minutes, claims, and financials. They approved the Mayor's signature on an FCC notification form for drive-by census radio reads for the AMR system. The council then discussed and approved an interlocal agreement with Gearing regarding the landfill, which includes a tipping fee of $18 per ton, Gearing providing equipment and labor, and Gearing paying for the construction of Cell 3. A condition was noted that the Board of Public Works would pass a resolution to stop charging a fee for C&D or mixed loads when Gearing begins deliveries. Sarah Strochtar from We Share Our Mains requested and received a $2,000 grant for a sensory-centered environment project involving Kimball High School students. The council appointed Trig Peasley to the Board of Public Works. The meeting date for November 3rd was changed to November 5th. A discussion on e-bike laws was postponed to the next meeting. The Mayor's report was brief, and the city administrator's report included updates on the water tank, light pole replacements, the Lighthouse subdivision, a successful power plant run, and street shaving. The meeting adjourned at 5:43 p.m.
