Kimball Public Schools Spring Choir Concert 2026

Kimball City Council Agenda Regular Meeting on Tuesday Evening, May 5th, 2026

The City of Kimball Council meeting focused on several key agenda items including zoning ordinance changes and a community garden project. The council approved Ordinance 847 to add MIL (Military facilities and military support facilities) zoning district and Ordinance 851 to rezone property at 303 East 3rd Street from residential to general commercial. A significant portion of the meeting addressed the establishment of the Kimball Victory Garden, where the council ultimately approved locating it at the Evergreen and 8th Street property with the city providing water installation. The council also discussed a chip seal street maintenance project, though they tabled the decision to the next meeting due to budget considerations. Administrative updates included progress on updating municipal codes, installing new park fountain and scoreboard, and plans for pool opening, with the next council meeting scheduled for May 19th.

Construction is underway at the former Kimball Hospital being converted into the Nebraska Panhandle Counseling Center.

City Council Agenda Regular Meeting on Tuesday Evening, April 7th, 2026

The City Council meeting of Kimball focused on several key agenda items including the approval of consent agenda items, the appointment of Charles Herman to the Airport Authority Board, and the third reading of Ordinance 848. The council discussed and approved Ordinance 850, which authorizes the issuance of combined utility revenue refunding bonds to refund the Series 2018 bonds, with a preference for a 10-year term model. The council also approved a fee waiver for farmers market vendors at Gotte Park, excluding food trucks, and discussed a proposal for a community victory garden project. Additional topics included the potential sale of K9 Lucy, approval of keynote funds for the Farmer's Day Committee, and updates on various infrastructure projects including water tank rehabilitation, wastewater treatment plant construction, and potential grants for tornado sirens and downtown sidewalk improvements.
