Numerous thunderstorms are expected to develop across the area this afternoon and tonight. Strong to severe storms are possible, with hail up to half dollar size and wind gusts in excess of 60 MPH. This activity will also be capable of torrential rainfall, which may lead to localized flash flooding. Thunderstorm chances will persist into Saturday. Severe weather is not anticipated. Severe weather chances will increase considerably Monday through Wednesday of next week. Plan now by reviewing severe weather safety rules to keep you and your family safe when severe storms threaten.

This Afternoon: A chance of rain and thunderstorms, then rain likely and possibly a thunderstorm after 3pm. Some of the storms could be severe. Cloudy, with a high near 65. Breezy, with a south wind 10 to 20 mph. Chance of precipitation is 70%. New rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms. 

Tonight: Rain likely and possibly a thunderstorm before 8pm, then a chance of rain and thunderstorms between 8pm and midnight, then a slight chance of rain after midnight. Some of the storms could be severe. Cloudy, then gradually becoming partly cloudy, with a low around 47. South southwest wind 5 to 10 mph becoming west after midnight. Chance of precipitation is 70%. New precipitation amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms. 

Saturday: A 20 percent chance of rain. Mostly sunny, with a high near 65. West northwest wind 10 to 15 mph becoming north in the afternoon. 

Saturday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 38. North wind 5 to 15 mph becoming south southeast after midnight. 

Sunday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 73. South southeast wind 5 to 15 mph. 

Sunday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 46.

Monday: A 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms after 3pm. Mostly sunny, with a high near 80. Breezy. 

Monday Night: A slight chance of showers and thunderstorms before 9pm. Partly cloudy, with a low around 51. Breezy. 

Next Tuesday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 83. Breezy.

Next Tuesday Night: A slight chance of rain and thunderstorms before midnight. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 53. Breezy.

Next Wednesday: A chance of rain and thunderstorms. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 81. Breezy.

Next Wednesday Night: A chance of rain and thunderstorms. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 44. Breezy.
