Scattered showers and thunderstorms are expected to develop across much of the area this afternoon, likely persisting overnight into early Friday morning. Severe weather is not expected. Thunderstorms are expected once again on Friday. A few storms may be strong to locally severe, with hail up to the size of quarters and wind gusts to 60 MPH. Severe weather chances will increase considerably Monday through Wednesday of next week.
