KIMBA Network NEWS on Monday, March 15th, 2021

A weekend blizzard brought a foot and a half of snow to Kimball this weekend and caused many business, churches and schools to close Sunday and Monday. Several churches were closed yesterday Sunday and there is no school today for all schools in Kimball County as well. Kimball Public Schools had no school last Friday, March 12th, due to the power project and also had no school again today Monday, March 15th and will also not have school again tomorrow Tuesday, March 16th, due to the blizzard conditions this weekend. The Kimball County Visitor Center was closed last Friday, March 12th, due to the city wide scheduled power outage. They are also closed again today Monday, March 15th, due to the weather. Many places around town lost power yesterday Sunday at 5:40am, due to the blizzard. Some residents say that they heard a transformer pop. City crews were out yesterday restoring power. The grocery store Main Street Market was closed yesterday Sunday due to the store needing to keep their employees safe plus the fact that they had no electricity early Sunday as well. All highways in the panhandle remain closed this evening. Interstate 80 has been closed since Saturday night. By yesterday evening, Interstate 80 closed between Grand Island Nebraska and Evanston Wyoming. In sports, the Kimball Baseball and Softball league is looking forward to their season this summer. They will have a registration and payment night on Tuesday, March 23rd, from 6:30pm to 8pm. The place is pending to be determined where they will meet that evening. They also send home paper forms from schools this week!
