City Council Meeting Updates

The City Council meeting began with a prayer and roll call, confirming all board members were present. The council approved the consent agenda, including minutes from July 21st and August 4th, and claims and financials. They then approved two resolutions: one for the Kimball Airport Authority requesting $66,750 in property taxes for debt service and operations, and another establishing cemetery rate changes as recommended by the Cemetery Board. Michelle Coolidge, Executive Director of the Western Panhandle Regional Land Bank, presented an update on the land bank's progress, including board representation from Gabe Ingram and Nan Garrett, and discussed plans for utilizing dedicated contributions from cities like Kimball. The council explored the possibility of providing labor in lieu of a financial contribution due to budget constraints, which Michelle agreed to present to the land bank board for consideration.
